As of October 1st, Mortgages will have more flexibility when it comes to Self- employed borrower qualifying. There will be a broader range of accepted documentation to justify employment and income requirements.
The national housing agency claims that it is providing lenders more guidance and flexibility to help self-employed borrowers. Up until now, self-employed Canadians may have had a harder time qualifying for a mortgage, due inconsistent and less predictable incomes.
